The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 8.6
Advanced Installer is a powerful product packager developed by Caphyon. It stands as an alternative to Wise Installation Studio or other similar products. Using Advanced Installer you can easily create or maintain installation packages such as .exe and .msi. Based on the Windows Installer technology, the program creates reliable installation packages.
To start creating a setup file for your product, choose from a great list of specialized templates, depending on the environment your product was developed in. Advanced Installer comes with a friendly user interface. From the main window of the program, you are allowed to select from installation templates such as .NET Application, Visual Studio Application, Visual Basic Application and many others. The program also offers generic templates including: “Simple”, “Professional”, “Enterprise” and “Architect”.
Advanced Installer is designed with the purpose to easily build installation packages. It follows all the Windows Installer rules and the process of packages installation creation takes a few minutes. The program stores the project files in XML format for easier access. You are also able to automate the package building process using an integrated command line. The user interface enables you to easily add the components and resources your software requires, such as files, folders, registry entries, product information and many others.
When it comes to creating installation packages, an important part of the process is the customization of the installation user interface. Advanced Installer offers you the possibility to modify it in many ways, including theme selection, installation dialog customization, choosing a slideshow image and translating the interface in many languages.
Advanced Installer has all the features to be appreciated by the software packaging engineers. |
- The trial version offers full access to the program features.
